Educated at Frederick City College; attended his first course of lectures at Jefferson Medical College; M.D., University of Maryland, 1867; practiced at Cumberland, Md., for seven years; health failed; studied Eye, Ear and Throat Diseases under Dr. J.J. Chisolm, Baltimore; settled at Asheville, N. C., as specialist, and continued as such until his death, October 27, 1888.
