Notes: Dodson (1842-1929) was a member of Talbot County’s Dodson family (lived in St. Michael’s), served in the US Navy during the Civil War as an apothecary and settled in Baltimore after the war. He
went to the “old Baltimore Medical College” and practiced in Baltimore for more than thirty years (this according to his obituary). The Maryland Historical Society has his naval diary in its collections and are in the process of publishing it.
