Obituary
Dr. Krumrein, East Baltimore physician
Funeral services for Dr. Louis F. Krumrein, who had practiced general medicine in East Baltimore for many years, will be held at 10,30 A.M. tomorrow at the Jenkins funeral establishment, 4905 York road.
Dr. Krumrein, who was 83 and lived at 3718 Delverne road, died Sunday at Church Home and Hospital following a heart attack.
Before his retirement at the end of 1964, he had practiced for nearly 45 years at 722 North Kenwood avenue where he then lived.
Following his retirement, he was honored with a party at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church of which his wife was a member. During the party, it was noted that he had to speak German to many of his early patients.
A native of Baltimore and a graduate of City College, he worked his way through college and medical school at the Johns Hopkins University as a bacteriological technician for the United States Public Health Service.
Following his internship at a tuberculosis hospital in New York State, he practiced for a time in the area of Luray, Va., riding on horseback to many of his patients in the mountains, before returning to Baltimore.
A member of St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, he was a benefactor both of his church and that of his wife.
His wife, the former A. Irene Zirkler, died last September.
He is survived by a nephew, John Henry Krumrein, of Anneslie.
