    Ellicott City, Md., Feb. 18–Dr. Evan W. Warfield, one of the oldest and most respected residents of Howard County, died at Longwood February17, in the seventy-ninth year of his age. Dr. Warfield was the only son of the late Dr. Gustavus Warfield and grandson of Dr. Charles Alexander Warfield, the patriot of the Revolution. He was a well-known physician and was an active practitioner for over 50 years in Howard and surrounding counties. He received his diploma from the Maryland University at the age of 19. In early life Dr. Warfield was married to Miss Sallie Ann Warfield, only daughter of Mr. Charles D. Warfield of Bushy Park. By this marriage there were four children — Mr. Gustavus Warfield, Mrs. Thomas B. Cockey, Mr. Evan W. Warfield, Mrs. Chas. D. Warfield, and gthe late Mrs. Chas. A. Hook. In advanced years Dr. Warfield married Miss Julia G. Anthony, of Richmond, Va. She and a son, Gilmer A. Warfield, survive him. Dr. Warfield was prominent in the Presbyterian Church, and was a ruling elder for over 50 years.
