    Charles S. Austin, Jr., Towson pharmacist, of 205 Ridgemead road, died yesterday at Union Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.

    Mr. Austin, who was 64, was born in Baltimore, the sone of Charles S. Austin, and Caroline Coch Austin.

    After attending Baltimore City College Mr. Austin later was graduated from the University of Maryland’s School of Pharmacy.

    President of the Maryland State Board of Pharmacy, Mr. Austin was also president of the Calvert Drug Association.

    Mr. Austin was a past president of the Maryland Pharmaceutical Association, and the Baltimore Metropolitan Pharmaceutical Association and was the immediate past president of the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy Alumni Association.

    He was also a member of the Wedgewood Club, the Torch Clyb, Rho-Chi honorary fraternity, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, the American Pharmaceutical Association and the National Association of Retail Druggists.

    Mr. Austin is survived by his wife, the former Dorothy M. Buschman; a son, Charles S. Austin, 3d; a daughter, Miss Dorothy B. Ausin; three brothers, and two sisters.

    Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Monday, at The Church of St. Michael and All Angels, at St. Paul and Twenty-first streets.

    Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

    Notes: Dr. John L. Asbill
    Dr. John L. Asbill, a long-time Towson pharmacist, died yesterday at Union Memorial Hospital after a short illness. He was 76.

    Born in Newberry, S.C., he studied at the University of Maryland where he graduated from the School of Pharmacy in 1915. He served as a lieutenant in the Army during World War I.

    Dr. Asbill owned and operated Asbill Pharmacy, Inc., Washington and Chesapeake avenues in Towson, since 1932. The Veteran Druggist Association had presented him with a silver bowl for 50 years of pharmacy.

    He was a member of the Maryland and Baltimore Metropolitan Pharmaceutical Associations, the National Associationo f Retail Druggists, the Mount Moriah Lodge No. 116, A.F. & A.M., and the Towson Methodist Church.

    A life-long bachelor, he is survived by two brothers, William A. Asbill of Electra, Texas, and Henry G. Asbill, of Bishopville, S.C.

    Funeral services will be held at 7 P.M. at the John Burns Sons funeral establishment, 610 York Road.

    Notes: Funeral services for Dr. Joseph Aud, druggist, who died at 6 A.M. yesterday, will be held at 9:30 A.M. Friday in St. Cecelia’s Catholic Church, Walbrook. The Rev. Dr. Joseph J. Aud, S.J., professor of sociology at Loyola College and nephew of the druggist, will offer the requiem mass. Burial will be in Holy Redeemer Cemetery.

    Dr Ayd was born October 10, 1859. He was graduated from St. James’ Catholic School and from the Maryland College of Pharmacy on March 22, 1880.

    He opened his first drug store at Madison and Ensor streets, East Baltimore.

    Last year he was made honorary president of the Maryland Pharmaceutical Association. He was the brother of the well-known East Baltimore physician, Dr. John Ayd, who died in January, 1933.

    Surviving are two sons, Dr. Joseph Ayd and Edward Ayd, and two grandchildren.
