    Notes: Dr. John E. Auer
    Dr. John E. Auer, who practiced dentistry in West Baltimore for 42 years, died yesterday at his home, 1801 West Baltimore street, after a protracted illness. He was 64.

    The son of the late Dr. William T. and Mrs. Sarah H. Wells Auer, he was born here on December 19, 1886 and received his elementary education at Saint Peter’s parochial school. He received his dental degree on June 14, 1909, from the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery.

    He started his professional career in the dental office of his father, 1213 West Fayette street, where he remained after his parent’s retirement.

    Dr. Auer was known throughout his area of the city for his philanthropies and for the large number of patients among the underprivileged in West and Southwest Baltimore whom he treated for free.

    Funeral To Be Monday
    He was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Martin’s Catholic Church, of the Maryland Dental Association and other organizations.

    He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Helen Kilbourne Auer; three sons, John Donald, William Wells and Thomas Bruce Auer, and four brothers. They are William L., Edward R., Bernard C. and Ernest E. Auer.

    Funeral services will be held Monday morning at St. Martin’s Church. Burial will be in the New Cathedral Cemetery.
