Dr. William Smithson Archer died at his home, “Shamrock,” near Bel Air, Md., on April 1. He was descended from a family whose name has been prominent in political and legal affairs for several generations.

After graduation he studied medicine in Baltimore and abroad in Vienna and at Guy’s Hospital in London. He was one of the last of the old-time general practitioners in Hartford County.

His classmates will remember “Little Sage” on account of his cheerful acceptance of all the good things in life that came his way. A jolly companion and a lover of Princeton.
