Mrs. Badger, who was born in Woodensburg, Baltimore county, was 76 years old. She had been ill for nearly a week. She was the wife of Dr. Augustine P. Badger, who survives her.
Taught Church Bible Class
She had been the teacher of the Woman’s Bible Class of Starr Church for twenty years.
She was the author of a volume on genealogy, which was published in 1934, and was the organizer of the Maryland branch of the National Society of Sons and Daughters of the Pilgrims. At the time of her health she was governor emeritus and acting registrar of the society.
Active in Missionary Societies
In addition she was president emeritus of the Maryland branch of the Woman’s Foreign Missionary Society; president emeritus of the Starr Auxiliary Missionary Society; former president of the Starr Home Missionary Society and a member of its national board; former president of the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the Emory Grove Association; a member of the Maryland Historical Society and the Virginia Historical Society; a member of the Magna Carta Dames, and a member of the board of the Meth-Pro Home for Girls.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Badger is survived by a daughter, Mrs. John G. Chappell, of Silver Spring, Md.; a son, Major Walter L. Badger, U.S.A., dental surgeon at Holabird Quartermaster Depot; a brother, Charles H. Jones, and three grandsons.
