Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Helen M. Brown Garey; a daughter, Mrs. Helen Garey Banfield, Baltimore, and a son, Everett H. Garey, Jr., Seaman 2/c, U.S. Navy, stationed at Norfolk, Va.; a sister, Mrs. Benjamin Somers, Denton, Md.
During the First World War, he had a rating of hospital apprentice 1/c and was with the Naval Unit SATC, University of Maryland, Baltimore.
He was a member of the Masonic Order and of Carroll Post No. 31, the American Legion. He had practiced dentistry here the past twenty-four years.
Funeral survices will be conducted from the funeral home of F.A. Sharrer and Son, Washington Ave., on Monday at 1:00 PM in charge of the Rev. J. Edmund Lippy, pastor of St. Paul’s Reformed church, and the Rev. Nevin E. Smith, Hanover, a former pastor of the deceased. Bearers will be from the Legion who will conduct a graveside service. Interment will be in the National Cemetery at Baltimore.

Funeral services for Dr. R. Edward Garrett, former superintendant of the Spring Grove State Hospital, will be held at 11 o’clock tomorrow morning at the Witzke funeral establishemtn, 4101 Edmondson avenue.
Dr. Garrett, who resigned his post at Spring Grove in 1935 because of ill health, died Sunday at the home of his sister, Mrs. Nancy Hood, of Los Angeles. He was 89 years old.
A graduate of the Baltimore City College and the University of Maryland Medical School, where he received his medical degree in 1890, Dr. Garrett was a resident physician for five years in the psychopathic department of Bay View Hospital.
After a brief period of service as assistant to the resident surgeon at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, he went to Spring Grove as assistant physician in 1899.

He served as superintendent of Spring Grove from 1928 until 1935.
Dr. Garrett had lived in Los Angeles for about five years since the death of his wife, the former Ella Bird.
In addition to his sister he is survived by a nephew, Curtis L. Garrett, of Baltimore, and two nieces, Miss Dorothy Hood and Mrs. Helen Fergusson, of Los Angeles.
Burial will be in Druid Ridge Cemetery.

Funeral services will be held at his home on Camp Meade road, Linthicum Heights, on Monday morning at 11 o’clock.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mabel Boyd Gaver, and one son, Oren Henry Gaver, Jr.
A native of Frederick county, Dr. Gaver studied for his profession at the University of Maryland Dental School, and has been practicing in the city since his graduation in 1918. For many years he has maintained offices in the Medical Arts Building.
He served as presidentof the State dentists’ group from May, 1938, to May, 1939, and has been honored in many other organizations in his profession. For several years he was superintendent of the dental clinic at the University of Maryland; he was deputy counselor and past grant master of the Oriole chapter of the Psi Omega dental fraternity; a member of the O.K.U. honor fraternity; a member of the American College of Dentistry, and a member of Concordia Lodge.
