Educated at Faires’ School, Philadelphia, and the University of Pennsylvania; A.B., University of Pennsylvania, 1877; M.D., University of Pennsylvania, 1882; Founder of Kensington Hospital for Women, 1883; Associate Professor of Obstetrics, University of Pennsylvania, 1888-89; Professor of Gynaecology and Obstetrics, Johns Hopkins University, 1889, and later of Gynaecology only; Gynaecologist in Chief to the Johns Hopkins Hospital; author of “Operative Gynaecology,” 2 vols., 550 pp. each, 48 plates, 592 original illustrations, New York, 1898. 1418 Eutaw Place, Baltimore.
