    Notes: “Dr. Arthur D. Mansfield has returned home from Europe after an absence of nearly a year. The doctor has been pursuing his studies principally in the hospitals of London, Berlin and Vienna, attending clinics and studying medicine in all its branches. Especially has he been pursuing the study f the eye with a view of taking up that specialty. He was under instructions with such men as Sir Wm. McCormack and Pepper of London, Billroth, Fuchs and Braun of Vienna, Robert Koch, Virchow, Hirschberg and Bergmann of Berlin.”

    Notes: “Dr. A. D. Mansfield sailed last Wednesday from Liverpool for New York on the steamer Majestic. Dr. Mansfield, as the readers of this JOURNAL may know, went over a year ago and after a visit in London at the hospitals, went to Paris, Vienna, Berlin and other smaller places. He was in Berlin throughout the session of the International Medical Congress, which he attended as a delegate, and he has also followed very carefully the discovery and treatment of Koch, a full and interesting account of which will be found in his letter in this issue.”
