Worthing-ton; M.D., University of Maryland, 1828; Resident Physician, Almshouse; practiced at Martinsburg; later, at Hagerstown; a Founder of Hagerstown Mail, 1828; later, of Martinsburg Republican; Visitor to West Point, 1839; Presidential Elector for Van Buren, 184o; Major-General, Maryland Militia; arrested and confined in Northern forts, 1861-62; Surgeon, C.S.A., 1863-65; after the War settled at Richmond. Died at Mineola, Chesterfie!d County, Va., May 5, 1881.
