  Notes: The death of Mrs. Pleasant Hunter, aged 73 years, wife of Pleasant Hunter, of Wiseburg, which occurred Saturday afternoon, 25th ult., at her late residence at Wiseburg, was a shock to all her friends throughout the county. The deceased was an estimable woman in every sense of the word. She was a kind and indulgent mother, and truly a helpmeet to her aged husband, who she leaves behind to mourn his sad and irreparable loss. She was a good and kind neighbor, and was ever ready to lend a helping hand to those who were in trouble or afflicted in any way. She was the daughter of Peter Smyser, who came from York, Pa., and was born in the neighborhood of what is known as “Lowe’s Camp Ground.”

  On the 12th on March 1890, Mr. and Mrs. Hunter celebrated their golden wedding. those present on that occasion were: Peter S.- who is a farmer and is married to Clarinda, a daughter of the late Geo. Norris, of White Hall, and has eight children living and one dead, lives at home and occupies the house in which the marriage ceremony was performed 50 years ago by the Rev. Mr. Holmead, the Episcopal clergyman then in charge of the St. James’ Episcopal Church, “My Lady’s Manor.” Thomas J., who is a member of the legal profession, residing at Towson, married Ada, a daughter of ex-Judge Adam Ebaugh, of York county, Pa. and has four children. Mary E., who married Dr. James Gerry, a prominent physician of Shrewsbury, Pa. Mrs. Gerry has one child. Silas W., who is a physician and practised in Baltimore for many years, but is not in active practice at present. He married Sarah J., a daughter of the late John Henderson, of Baltimore city, and has one child. Pleasant Jr., who is a minister and has charge of a Presbyterian Church at Minneapolis, Minn. He married a lady from Hartford, Conn., and has two children, and Laura, who is single and resides at home. The deceased leaves one sister, Mrs. Clara Strawinski, of York, Pa.

  Her funeral took place Tuesday, 28th ult., from Wiseburg M.E. Church, Rev. C.H. Richardson, of Baltimore, officiating, assisted by Rev. Joshua L. Benson. The pall-bearers were Messrs. Jas. Rampley, Christopher Slade, Jarrett Nelson, H. Best Miller, George W. Elliott and George Frederick.
